A note to our Instawork community...

Note: Instawork Co-Founder & CEO, Sumir Meghani, emailed members of our Instawork Professional community. We're posting it here as an open letter.

Like many of you, I've felt sad and angry the past several days after the tragic killing of George Floyd. Although this was not an isolated event, the passionate pleas for justice this weekend from millions of Americans who peacefully protested his death reminded us that we still have work to do to remove racism and abuse of power in this country that we love so much.

To our Black Professionals: we stand with you to seek systemic change. Instawork has a diverse community of talented, hard-working Professionals whom we value deeply and have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination of any type. We're all in this together to create a strong community that we can be proud of.

Our vision is to create economic opportunity for Professionals, globally. That vision starts with ensuring that we connect you to safe work environments.

This past week, more than ever, the team and I have been reflecting on how we can do better in delivering that commitment to you. In addition to contributing to causes that fight racism, we're working on strengthening our safety programs and policies. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. If you experience or witness harassment or discrimination on a gig, please tell us so we can help you.

In solidarity,
Sumir Meghani
