As the economy begins to slowly recover, more and more jobs are being created, to the point that there are now more open positions than there are available applicants. Amidst these unique market conditions, Instawork has been working harder than ever to connect local businesses with the skilled staff they need to successfully navigate the increased demand on their businesses. This, in turn, has resulted in a period of dramatic company growth. In less than a year, Instawork has raised $60 million in a Series C funding round, made an acquisition, and added four new members to our leadership team — and today, we’re proud to announce another: Jodee Kozlak, the newest member of our Board of Directors.
With more than 20 years of experience, Jodee has distinguished herself as a skilled business leader with an impressive track record for guiding fast-growing companies through global expansion. Most recently, she served as the Global Senior Vice President and Senior Business Advisor for Alibaba Group, helping to drive international expansion outside of China.
Previously, Jodee was one of the longest serving C-Suite leaders on the Executive Committee of Target Corporation, having spent more than a decade as the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. She worked closely with the Board, CEO, and the Executive team to improve core operating performance and set the strategy for Target’s global workforce of over 350,000 team members during an era of profitable growth and strong team engagement for the company. Jodee also held other key leadership roles including general counsel for the International Owned Brands Sourcing Business, general counsel for Labor and Employment, and trustee of the Target Foundation.
Jodee’s expertise and guidance in corporate strategy, organizational development, and global expansion will help ensure success as we scale and establish a presence in new markets around the country. Ultimately, this will allow us to provide even greater economic opportunities for businesses recovering from the COVID-19 recession and professionals who want to get back to work.

Jodee’s arrival comes right on the heels of Cathy Hardin’s appointment as Chief Revenue Officer at Instawork. The two are in good company among other recently-hired leaders, including CFO Mark Wallace, VP of Product Management Shamit Patel, and General Counsel Keith Chapman.
