Employee Spotlight: Kelsey Garner, Director of Sales

Our mission at Instawork is to create economic opportunities for local businesses and professionals, globally. In order to achieve that mission, we have built a team composed of talented and hard-working individuals who are passionate about connecting skilled hourly workers with local businesses who need their services.

Our Employee Spotlight series takes the opportunity to highlight members of our team and to give a glimpse into our culture and what it’s like to work at Instawork. To highlight the diversity of our team, we’ve asked Kelsey Garner, Director of Sales, to share more about her experience working at Instawork.

What do you do at Instawork and how long have you been with the company?

I joined Instawork 2 years ago as a Sales Manager in Chicago. This past November, I was fortunate enough to be promoted to the Director of Sales for Instawork’s East Region, overseeing our Chicago and NYC sales teams.

What initially attracted you to Instawork?

The product market fit is what initially attracted me to Instawork. After years of selling recruitment software, I saw the gaps in how businesses tried to connect with hourly workers. After researching Instawork, it was clear that we were uniquely positioned to provide more opportunities for workers and businesses.

I also saw the opportunity to help build a sales org that will be responsible for making a product a household name.

What's your favorite part of your job?

Seeing my team improve and succeed so that they can reach their personal goals while helping our company grow and achieve our mission of providing economic opportunity. There are millions of products and services to sell, but being part of a company that actually makes a difference by helping people provide for themselves and their families is incredibly rewarding.

Helping my team and the company be successful doesn’t happen without the opportunity to share ideas on how to improve and adapt our processes, product and tools. Act Like an Owner and Always Be Learning are two of our core values that drive constant collaboration and make our work fun.

What is one piece of “work from home” equipment you couldn’t live without?

A second monitor! I don’t know how anyone can work on only one screen.

What's the most important thing you've learned since starting at Instawork?

Adapting to change quickly and not being afraid to share ideas that you believe will drive positive change.

In 10 words or less, how would you describe the culture at Instawork?

Ever changing, collaborative, competitive, fun, values driven.
