The more skills and certificates you have, the more roles you qualify for. If you usually wash dishes, for example, but want to be a server as well, you'll need to get a food handlers card. You can also train up on warehouse basics, picking and packing, and more to impress businesses looking for warehouse workers.
Some certificates, like forklift certificates and alcohol certificates, qualify you for higher-paying jobs. You'll have to pay for these certificates out of pocket, but you can usually make up the difference (and more!) pretty quickly.
