A prep cook’s role refers to a back of house worker whose primary responsibility is to set up the job site for success.
Prep Cook responsibilities:
Complete the opening and/or closing prep list.
Refer to daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties. Communicate any questions to the Kitchen Manager on duty.
Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods and recipes.
Understands and complies with all kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work station including knives, cutting surfaces, line equipment .
Handles equipment with care having safety in mind at all times.
Always checks with the kitchen manager before leaving shift and clocking out.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment.
Stocks and puts away daily deliveries.
Rotates food items correctly.
Constantly consolidating and correctly labeling all food items as needed.
Communicates with Kitchen Manager of any product shortages.
Performs any other related duties assigned by the on duty Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.
