A prep cook’s role refers to a back of house worker whose primary responsibility is to set up the job site for success.
Prep Cook responsibilities:
Prepare work stations and ingredients for chefs according to instructions.
Follow proper handling, preparation and holding guidelines
Ensure foods in sufficient quantities while minimizing over-production and waste.
Assist in preparing all food products as scheduled in the menu .
Maintain kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule.
Communicates appropriately with all food service staff, supervisors and listens effectively.
Work safely and consistently using designated safety equipment.
