A prep cook’s role refers to a back of house worker whose primary responsibility is to set up the job site for success.
Prep Cook responsibilities:
Able to handle all general preparation within the kitchen, including chopping vegetables, preparing fruits and making salads.
Able to handle all food storage and perform basic kitchen maintenance duties, including mopping the floors, washing dishes and emptying the trash.
Flexible to to learn the cooking methods employed within their kitchen.
Assist in preparing menu items in accordance with their corresponding recipes and matrixes.
Assist with any sanitizing, organizing and cleaning throughout the kitchen as requested by the sous chef, chef de cuisine, or executive chef on duty.
