This is a standby position, please note that in order to qualify for the 2 hours of pay you must be present on time. Extras are placed on a first-come first-serve basis.You will be working a flexible with several responsibilities as a server/busser/runner to help with the Sands Expo buffet. Security Check-In: Arrive early enough to check-in with the Instawork Event Captain and Security Booth to get badged before your shift starts. Tracking Hours: You must be checked-in before your shift starts. If you’re not checked-in on-time you could be replaced by an extra and sent home. Make sure to check-in with the on-site Instawork Event Captain, Clock-in and out on your app, AND Sign-in and out at the office timesheet. Lunch: is provided at the Employee Dining Room. You will be given a 60 minute unpaid lunch break (mandatory). Speak to your Venetian Stewarding supervisor regarding your lunch break. There are NO LOCKERS available. A Busser/Food Runner role refers to a front of house worker whose primary responsibility is to support the servers of the job site.
Busser/Food runner responsibilities:
Provide service to customers, finding requested items and bringing them to the customer’s table in an efficient and timely manner. Clean down tables between customers using dampened cloths and other supplies to ensure a hygienic dining environment. Replace used condiments, soiled tablecloths, silverware and linens so that each customer has what they need for their meal. Bring food and beverages to and from the kitchen or serving counters, including pitching in to assist the wait staff during busy shifts to reduce the customer wait time and ensure all meals are served hot and fresh. Offer customers complementary items such as rolls and water as soon as the patrons sit down. Ensure that the stock area remains adequately stocked with clean linens, silverware, glassware, trays, dishes and more so there is no downtime when serving customers. Keep the dining area clean, which may include vacuuming, mopping, wiping down counters and other duties as required. Maintain communication with the servers, hosts, chefs and other staff members to ensure an efficient working relationship.
